The Exuvia series is the result of a broader research into metal casting.

This series explores the interaction between solid and liquid metals. Solid metal acts as a mould, a kind of pencil for a rapid sketch. It loosely draws the initial shape of the final object. The liquid metal, is poured into this sketch. During the casting process, the heat transforms the sketch. It shapes the molten medium, resulting in an object that feels almost naturally grown.

“One cannot exist without the other”

The term "exuvia", borrowed from biology, means “shed skin”, a process seen in insects, reptiles, and crustaceans as they moult and discard their outer layer. Just like with this crafting method.
