Stratum Series
It all started in 2017, when I developed a technique that enabled me to convert a small amount of veneer into hollow, conical objects. A technique that requires little material and produces even less waste.
By lasercutting or water jetting sheet material into concentric layers and assembling them by hand, I obtain organically shaped objects which are handmade in my studio. They are produced in small scale and mostly on demand.

Stratum Saxum, Stone
Stratum Saxum - 2020 / 2021
Stratum : Layer
Saxum : Stone
The collection exudes the tranquility of a rock. A silence that goes hand in hand with the technique behind it.
A body of burned bamboo with a smoked glass top that allows you to see inside. An object that evokes wonder. Solid from a distance, but changeable in nature when viewed up close. Solidity, lightness, and reflections become one.
Prices upon request.

Stratum Basim - 2019
Titanium Travertin Edition _ 1/1
Stratum: Layer
Basim: Base, pedestal, foot.
Stratum Basim is the sequel and third piece in the "Stratum Series".
Stratum Basim represents all irreversible waste of natural stone, a material that takes millions of years to form and is used without effort. The object appears in the form of a totem as a statement.
From a small piece of marble, we created a solid looking object of 40cm high by 30cm wide, all from a 2cm flat plate of 0,75m2
Stratum Basim is made exclusively on request. Each time we use a leftover piece of marble, which is more difficult to use for the company and would leads faster to waste.
40cm H x 30cm W x 30cm L / 16kg
Production time of 12 weeks.
Price on request.
Stratum Tempus - 2019
Stratum : Layer
Tempus : Season, time, period, moment
Material: Bamboo / recycled acrylic
Stratum Tempus is a vase collection and the second piece in the "Stratum Series".
Each piece is spirally hand-assembled. For this reason they don’t have a facade, which makes them changeable when moving.
The bamboo vases are perfect for dried flowers and branches, while the acrylic versions are waterproof and made for a fresh picked flower.
The acrylic I’m using is 100% recycled, as well as the final product. The bamboo I use, grows up to 1 meter a day.
Hand-assembled and numbered.
Available through the webstore.
Stratum Quercus - 2018
Stratum Quercus is the first translation of the concept a sculptural daybed. Due to its natural shape, the piece almost becomes a creature in space.
The almost 700 layers are assembled in a 30° angle, wich creates a contrast between the burned and natural colour of the bamboo.
Like the whole Stratum Series, this piece is also totaly hollow and has a steel structure inside.
Limited edition of 7 pieces.
Price upon request.
